Michelin begins rollout of new two-wheeler range

By introducing a full new range of motorcycle tyres, in 2024 Michelin says it will “accomplish a major technical evolution.” It unveiled the first three of these products at the EICMA show in Italy last November. The new year gets underway with these products’ market debut.
The first newcomers are the Michelin Power 6, Power GP2, and Anakee Road.
Michelin Power 6: The ‘everyday tyre combining fun & sportiness’
Michelin is aiming this tyre at a wide spectrum of sports motorcycle users and posits that Power 6 will be the “new Michelin reference” for anyone who is looking for sportiness and pure riding pleasure.
Beyond sport performance, Michelin says this new tyre keeps an eye on mileage for the daily riders or those who travel long distances on motorcycle trips. “The grip in dry and wet conditions, but also its handling and sportiness, make this tyre a suitable answer to the demands of motorcyclists.” Available in a wide range of sizes, Michelin Power 6 is suitable for motorcycles over 300cc, and it has already been homologated on the new 2024 KTM 390 Duke.

Michelin Power GP2: A ‘master of racetracks’ that’s also road homologated
Although “destined for the track,” the Michelin Power GP2 is homologated for the road. Michelin developed this evolution of the Power GP for owners of super sports bikes and claims that the updated model “enters a new dimension,” courtesy of qualities such as higher levels of wet and dry grip. “Thanks to its level of riding precision, it amplifies the track experience allowing the most experienced riders to push their limits on the track,” comments Michelin.
Designed by the same team of engineers and using the same development tools as those used for MotoGP tyres, the Michelin Power GP2 benefits from the tyre maker’s experience over the course of its 500 victories in the FIM World Championship.

Michelin Anakee Road: For road & trail
The Michelin Anakee Road is designed to complement other members of the Anakee range that boast patterns for more aggressive off-road usage, namely the Anakee Wild and Anakee Adventure. But Michelin points out that as trail bikes are very versatile, their range of use is wide. Therefore, it positions the Michelin Anakee Road at motorcyclists who prefer the road to off-road, riding their bike for long road trips as well as for everyday travel.
According to the manufacturer, Anakee Road provides high levels of grip in dry and wet conditions, a long service life and good stability. The bikes in this segment have become lighter over the generations but are still an imposing size and look. Michelin designed the new Anakee Road to be “in harmony with the style of these bikes.”

Reference for riders & OEMs
“Innovation is at the heart of Michelin’s strategy. We constantly invest in the evolution of our motorcycle tyre ranges in order to always be the reference in the field for both riders and OEMs,” shares Edouard De Peufeilhoux, director of Michelin’s 2-Wheels Business Line.
De Peufeilhoux adds that “after challenging market conditions in 2023, we have a strong conviction that motorcyclists are eager to return to road and track” this year. “Many new tyres for different market segments will be unveiled during 2024, all around the world: Michelin Power 6, Power GP2 and Anakee Road are just the beginning of Michelin’s technical revolution!”
