ISCC Plus certification for further Asahi Kasei products

Several products made by Asahi Kasei and a 75 per cent-owned subsidiary have acquired the widely recognised ISCC Plus sustainability certification. The list of newly certified products includes materials used in tyre production.

Asaprene solution-polymerized SBR and polybutadiene rubber are amongst the materials gaining ISCC Plus certification, as is butadiene rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber produced by Japan Elastomer Co. Ltd.

ISCC Plus certification ensures that biomass and recycled materials are appropriately managed in the whole supply chain, including manufacturing. The Asahi Kasei Group says it “aims to contribute to a carbon-neutral material value chain” by focusing on initiatives such as the use of biomass raw materials, recycled raw materials, and renewable energy.
