Colmec acquires Finnish Bandag retreader Pentep Oy

Colmec Group has acquired Bandag retreader Pentep Oy, one of Finland’s biggest independent retreaders. The company has built a strong customer base of tyre service operations and end-users since it was established in 1992. ”To be a part of Colmec will strengthen Pentep and secure that we can grow and take the next step in the Finnish market, this will positively gain both new and existing customers, but also our employees,” says Teppo Vekka CEO at Pentep.
“We are very happy that Teppo and Sari and their team at Pentep now is a part of Colmec, this will significantly grow our market share in Finland, and are in line with our groups master plan to be the biggest and most preferred supplier of tyre and tyre services in our markets,” says Patrick Sjölin CEO of Colmec Group. “This also secure that we are able to take care of all used bus and truck tyres in Finland for our customers, to make new retreaded tyres that have a very positive impact on the environment, and are the important way forward to handle tyres sustainable.”
Colmec describes its latest acquisition as “a new milestone,” beginning an “interesting strategic cooperation with Bandag and Bridgestone,” according to Sjölin. Post acquisition, Colmec added that Pentep would continue “business as usual” under the leadership of Teppo and Sai Vekka.
