With the recent launch of the Bridgestone Turanza 6, the manufacturer presented a touring summer tyre built on its Enliten technology platform that offered maximum applicability to the general motorist market. Succeeding the award winning Turanza T005 and the T001 Evo before it, the Turanza 6 incorporates electric vehicle-readiness and is presented in a wide range of sizes for both passenger cars and on-road SUVs, whether they are internal combustion engine, hybrids, or EVs. The tyre meets the demands of both general driving and the specific requirements of electric vehicles such as improving energy efficiency, maximising battery range, and accommodating the increased weight and torque of EVs.
The premium Turanza 6 is is founded on three simple principles that continue to serve Bridgestone well, featuring a nod to the future of mobility in the shape of its ‘EV Ready’ positioning. The tyre offers wet performance that beat its prime market contenders as of a TÜV SÜD test in June 2022; extended mileage versus its predecessor, the T005; and improved fuel and energy efficiency. Bridgestone says the Turanza 6 provides drivers with ultimate control and safety reassurance in all conditions thanks to three core features.
Extensive consumer research performed by Bridgestone into the needs and expectations of drivers demonstrated that 86 per cent of drivers listed ‘wet performance’ as one of the most important aspects when purchasing a tyre, and rain and wet conditions have been identified as a key challenge they encounter on the road. With its best-in-class wet performance, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 answers drivers’ expectations and helps to keep them safe on the road even in challenging wet weather conditions – supporting Bridgestone’s long-term commitment to road safety.
The Turanza 6 delivers superior mileage, with a 22 per cent improvement over its predecessor, the Turanza T005, which remains a test-winning product. It also provides improved fuel efficiency or extended battery range (depending on vehicle type), delivering a reduction of 4 per cent in rolling resistance versus its predecessor and offering best-in-class EU label A-grade in rolling resistance in selected sizes. This is supported by the introduction of an aerodynamic rim guard, which is designed to reduce the resistance of air on the tyre while driving.

Bridgestone recently confirmed that all its newly engineered tyres will be ‘EV-ready’ across its entire product portfolio in the future, including the Turanza 6. Enabled by its Enliten tyre technology platform, Turanza 6 is an equally impressive performer on petrol and diesel vehicles, as well as EVs, offering fuel savings and extended range benefits, respectively.
Developed and manufactured in Europe, the Bridgestone Turanza 6 is now available across the region in a wide coverage for both passenger cars and on-road SUVs, whether they are internal combustion engine, hybrids, or electric vehicles.
Bridgestone’s consumer sales director Brett Emerson said: “Our Turanza range has been hugely popular with motorists for many years. It’s a name that’s synonymous with excellence and quality and our customers know exactly what they’re getting when they see Turanza on the sidewall.
“The feedback we continue to receive gives us a great amount of optimism for 2024. The Turanza 6 represents the backbone of our consumer range and will play a pivotal role in our efforts to grow market share this year.”
Bridgestone’s Turanza range represents part of its mission to continue to provide social and customer value as a sustainable solutions company toward 2050. It also embodies Bridgestone’s E8 Commitment – a set of eight areas (Energy, Ecology, Efficiency, Extension, Economy, Emotion, Ease, Empowerment) which provide a compass to guide their strategic priorities, decision making and actions throughout every area of the business and operations.
