New VMI Southeast Asian service centre
VMI has officially opened its new Southeast Asian service centre in Chonburi, Thailand. The machinery manufacturer says the move from smaller premises to the high-tech facility reflects its “commitment to support the industry in this increasingly important region.” The new service centre will serve the growing needs of VMI customers in the entire Southeast Asian region.
At a tree planting ceremony held on 30 November and attended by local customers and VMI staff, chief executive officer Harm Voortman stated that the move to a larger facility that’s customised to the company’s specific needs is “an investment to support our customers and maximise their VMI experience.”
The almost 1,500 square metre facility is suited for delivering the full range of service that VMI offers to the industry with a state-of-the-art workshop and over 200 square metres of office space for support staff and engineering, but also training facilities for customers. Services provided to the region include tyre building drum maintenance and overhauls, retrofits and maintenance to existing machines as well as housing fully trained commissioning and service engineers.
