Gislaved – new name for Continental Kaluga plant
The former Continental tyre factory in Kaluga, Russia is taking on the Gislaved name and will operate under the management of Cordiant Joint Stock Company. Of the three brands the previous owner produced within the Kaluga plant, Gislaved is the only one for which S8 Capital gained usage rights when acquiring Continental’s Russian assets.
The newly renamed Gislaved plant in Kaluga holds the capacity to produce 4 million tyres per year and currently produces Gislaved passenger car and light commercial vehicle tyres in 13- to 21-inch rim diameters. Plans are in place to introduce new premium and mid-range brands in the near future. The Kaluga site employs more than 1,000 people and also includes a facility engaged in the production of automotive parts.
