Formula E Gen4 to run on Bridgestone tyres

Bridgestone will return to a FIA World Championship for the first time in a decade-and-a-half when it begins delivering tyres to Formula E in 2026/27. The FIA has announced that Bridgestone will serve as tyre supplier to its Gen4 cars, which will debut in Season 13 of the championship. The Japanese tyre maker will follow on from Hankook, which began supplying Formula E in 2023 after accepting the baton from Michelin.
Sharing information about future suppliers, the FIA states that the Gen4 era will “bring the next major leap for the series, ensuring Formula E remains at the bleeding edge of world championship electric motorsport.”
As was the case when developing the current Gen3 cars, sustainability has taken “centre stage” in the Gen4 tender process. The FIA required suppliers to identify all their measures to optimise product sustainability, as well as to reduce emissions and resource consumption through a lifecycle assessment process. Gen 4 will be a net zero race car by design like its predecessor, but the FIA states that the “boundaries of what is possible in this space are to be pushed yet further.”
