Bush Tyres Spalding’s Stefan Busby wins Pirelli Performance Centre Technician of the Year 2023

Stefan Busby who works at the Bush Tyres branch in Spalding branch has been named Pirelli Performance Centre (PPC) Technician of the Year 2023. Busby won after the list of around 50 entrants was whittled down to three finalists. The final was held at the Burton Pirelli Performance Centre on Wednesday 13 December.

The three finalists were: Stefan Busby from Bush Tyres Spalding; Sam Coulson from Protyre Chippenham; and Billy Metson form Jet Wheel & Tyre Benfleet.

The final involved a range of activities to test the finalists, including checking over a car to look for tyre fitting issues; diagnosis of tyres returned for inspection; identifying tyres and their uses including their seasonality and technologies; and identifying different areas and features of the tyre.

According to the company, the competition was extremely close but nevertheless Stefan Busby from Bush Tyres Spalding ended up victorious.

“I am grateful to be nominated originally, reaching the finals was amazing. Being at Burton upon Trent on the day was both exciting and nerve racking. I am so pleased with the win, I congratulate the other two finalists, as well as all the nominees. A massive thank you to Bush Spalding and the Bush family for all they have done for me. I also wish my late little sister could have seen this, I’m sure she is smiling at me in the heavens”, Stefan Busby commented.

Bush Tyres have 12 accredited Pirelli Performance centres.
