Wanli increases Guangzhou tyre factory capacity to 30 million units
Recently, Wanli Tire stated that to meet market demand, it plans to carry out a third phase expansion project in the vacant land reserved by its Guangzhou factory. According to the plan, the construction of the expansion project will be divided into two phases, adding a production capacity of 12 million semi-steel radial tyres.
Wanli is launching the first construction phase this time, involving a production capacity of 6 million tyres. The tyre manufacturer said it will invest 1.086 billion yuan (approximately £120 million; €140 million) to complete all factory buildings in the expansion project and install production equipment to manufacture 6 million tyres annually.
In other words, the construction of Wanli Tire has reserved installation space for new production equipment and automatic logistics facilities. In the second phase of the expansion project, the tyre manufacturer will only need to install equipment with an annual output of 6 million tyres to complete the overall project.
Before the expansion project, Wanli’s Guangzhou plant could produce 24 million semi-steel radial tyres annually. If the first part of the expansion project is completed, the tyre manufacturing base can manufacture 30 million tyres per year. According to Wanli’s plan, it will complete the factory buildings and equipment installation in December 2024 and put it into trial production.
Tyrepress China noticed that among Wanli’s new 6 million tyre production capacity, 1.67 million tyres are in the specification of 235/45R18, and 1.5 million tyres are in the specification of 225/55R17. In addition, Wanli is also preparing to add 980,000 new tyre production capacity with specifications of 225/55R16.
