Tirebuyer organization rebrands as Treadsy
While the Tirebuyer.com name is not being phased out, across the Atlantic, Treadsy’s role as an online white-label solution for tyre retailers across North America is increasing as the solution seeks to maximise both the online presence and service offering of tyre retailers. The e-commerce tyre platform is already home to the US’s largest network of 18,000 tyre installation locations including mobile vans. Moving forward, the focus of the business will shift to “powering capabilities of others in tyre retailing”.
In the meantime, Tirebuyer.com will continue to trade as a retail front-end through which Treadsy assets will be showcased. In other words, Treadsy is the engine that provides the tools and that power Tirebuyer. Tirebuyer will be the first place that these tools are released for the company to test and learn along with partners like Rent-A-Center.
Treadsy is the brain-child of Tirebuyer president and CEO Michael Welch, who is famous on this side of the Atlantic for his development of Blackcircles.com.
“This is an exciting moment for the business, as we unveil Treadsy. Our team has been working tirelessly to evolve Treadsy into an industry-leading technology solution. Treadsy will bring benefits for our supply and retail partners as they look for differentiation to compete in the highly competitive automotive aftermarket.
“We are also delighted to launch our first ‘powered by Treadsy’ partnership with Rent-A-Center, one of the nation’s leading lease-to-own retailers. We look forward to helping them build a world class tyre category for their customers, supported by the best brand partnerships and installation capabilities in the country.”
The rebrand to Treadsy completes the organization’s shift to providing B2B2C solutions that designed to accelerate growth for its partners. Treadsy’s focus is bringing its range of tyre e-tail resources and technical tools to market. In addition, it is providing its nationwide tyre installation and scheduling services as a bolt-on solution for e-commerce and fleet players.
According to Welch, 25-plus years of experience in innovating tyre e-commerce has led to the point where “we are seeing bricks and mortar stores and online merging together quickly and online moving away from ship-to-home services, especially as shipment costs have quadrupled” Welch explained, adding:
“We understand that our partner companies and ultimately the customers want to find valuable innovative services that work for them, such as state-of-the-art scheduling tools and network capabilities, and this drives us to create an innovative and continuously expanding suite of tools for the tyre market.”
“Conversations” with “many more potential partners” are already taking place. Indeed, Tyres & Accessories understands that Treadsy will be making an announcement about one particular brand in the first quarter of 2024.
So, what kind of partners is Treadsy looking to work with? Partners where there is alignment with their customer base and membership as well as a fit with their service or product offerings. The company is aiming to create “more innovative partnerships in the market, where we can be the middleman and bring together tyre brands and delivery partners and ultimately see our tools benefit their businesses and their customers”.
Continuing, Welch told T&A that: “We will push Treadsy as our primary offering and Tirebuyer will remain as a channel for Treadsy, powered by Treadsy.
In addition, Treadsy will “target solutions for fleet and retail players, where our tools offer them differentiation in their business model”.
