Sentury recalls 8900 tyres
Sentury Tire North America is recalling “a batch of passenger car tyres produced during Week 17 Year 2023” due to an issue which affects “the proper curing of the tyre’s tread base layer.” The recall relates to 16 SKUs across 12 different sizes and 10 brands. Overall, the US National Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports that 8900 tyres are potentially affected.
Official NHTSA filings posted on 21 November 2023 state that such “improperly cured” tyres “can result in tread separation” and that “tyre tread separation can cause vehicle instability, increasing the risk of a crash”.
Anyone who has purchased one of the recalled tyres can “have the tyres replaced” via Sentury Tire USA’s customer service channels.
The affected Sentury-produce tyre brands are: Landgolden, Landsail, Lexani, Lionhart, Mavis, Mohave, National, Radar, and Vercelli tyres. Complete size details can be found on the below chart.
