delta4x4 Mercedes G-Class makes bow on Mileking tyres
Off-road tuning company delta4x4 has launched its ”Hoch D” 4×4² version of the Mercedes G-Class, purportedly giving the “presence of the 4×4² without portal axles.” To achieve this, delta4x4 raised the G463A by 50 mm and developed a special body lift kit that raises the vehicle by an additional 100 mm. This allows G-Class drivers to use 22” tyres (size 345/55R22), thanks to an 80mm wheel arch extension. The tuner suggests tyres from “renowned manufacturers such as Mickey Thompson, BF Goodrich, Cooper, and Yokohama” could be used on the tuned model. However, the company’s announcement shows the Hoch D G-Class rolling on the Mileking Mud Champ MK889, a tyre manufactured by Qingdao-based Shandong Acmex Rubber Group.
Mileking is one of Acmex Group’s six tyre brands, the others being GM Rover, Firelion, Milever, Haida and Transking. The company states that its tyres are cover three major segments with products for the passenger car tyre, truck and bus tyre, and bias off-the-road tyre segments, approved by major global certification systems. Acmex adds that it has recruited strongly from the Korean tyre industry with more than half of its 18-strong research and development team formerly attached to Korean tyre brands. While Mileking tyres are available in the UK and Europe, Acmex indicates its targets for global expansion outside its domestic market in the Middle East and Americas; it intends to build overseas branches in “Dubai, USA, Mexico and Saudi Arabia.”
