Continental to support technology partner Brabus at Essen Motor Show with sports performance tyres
Continental will support luxury tuning firm Brabus at the Essen Motor Show 2023 (1-10 December). Brabus will present the Rocket R Limited Edition and Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition, both of which are limited to 25 models, and which fit Continental’s ultra-high performance SportContact 7. Continental will also supply ContiSportAttack 4 motorcycle tyres for the Brabus 1300 R Masterpiece Edition in its debut appearance, while the manufacturer will display its infotainment products on a separate stand (Hall 7, Stand A07).
The Brabus Rocket R Limited Edition offers 900 hp (662 kW) and a maximum torque of 1,000 Nm, resulting in 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and to 200 km/h in 7.2 seconds. Its carbon body makes the coupé 196.8cm wide, creating space for extra-wide 21 and 22-inch wheels with high-performance tyres up to 335mm wide. Continental supplies the SportContact 7 in 255/45 ZR 21 at the front and 335/45 ZR 22 at the rear. “The sportiest Continental tyre of all time was developed for extreme challenges,” says Michael Schneider, head of tuning Continental Tires Germany. “It gives the Brabus Supercar outstanding traction and can also withstand enormous lateral forces.”
The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition, named after the company founder, is a roadster based on the Mercedes-AMG SL 63 4MATIC+. The eight-cylinder biturbo offers 750 hp (552 kW) and 900 Nm of maximum torque, taking the two-seater from zero to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. The eye-catching Monoblock II evo Platinum Edition three-spoke wheels are sized 21 and 22-inches rims, with 275/35 ZR 21 and 335/25 ZR 22 SportContact 7 tyres mounted on the front and rear axles respectively. Sports springs specially matched to the tyres lower the vehicle by around 25 millimetres. “The lowered centre of gravity makes the handling even more agile without compromising comfort,” says Schneider. “At the same time, the perfect coordination with the tyres optimises active safety.”
For the first time this year, the Masterpiece Edition of the Brabus 1300 R, based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo, will be on display. The 270 km/h bike is powered by a 180 hp (132 kW) V2-cylinder engine. The special edition also includes a customized wheel and tyre combination, with 120/70 R17 (front) and 200/55 R17 (rear) ContiSportAttack 4 tyres. The tyre uses the manufacturer’s BlackChili sports compound for outstanding grip and extreme precision in sporty cornering.
