Alliance Agri Star range II now available in 65 series
The Alliance Agri Star II range is now complete following the launch of 65 series sizes. Yokohama Off Highway Tires (YOHT) introduced the new additions to the range at Agritechnica 2023 and will offer 21 sizes/25 SKUs in dimensions that “completely cover the range of front and rear combinations” and joins the existing line-up of 70, 85, 90 and 95 series fitments.
Introducing the 65 series tyres, YOHT comments that “practical experience since the market launch of the Agri Star II shows that the design of this tyre pays off regardless of the operating conditions.” It credits the Alliance-developed Stratified Layer Technology (SLT) with giving this tractor radial range consistent traction and self-cleaning qualities, together with long-lasting performance. “Farmers and contractors appreciate the good balance of grip and soil protection, efficiency and quality.”
Intelligent SLT
The SLT keeps the performance of Agri Star II consistent throughout its life, says YOHT. Each lug has two layers, each with its own profile – the first has a multi-angle profile and the second layer a single angle profile. As soon as the top layer is worn away after about 40 per cent tread wear, the features of the second lug layer come into action. The changed geometry brings consistent traction & roadability for further service life – “as if it were a completely new tyre.”
YOHT comments that this improved tyre design and lower rolling resistance helps farmers and contractors save energy and fuel, a positive impact on operating costs and the eco-balance of the production process.
On-road stability & comfort
The tyre maker adds that Alliance Agri Star II not only offers outstanding performance, but also a comfortable and quiet driving experience. A higher rubber volume in the centre of the tyre, combined with the tread pattern’s lug design, ensures “high comfort and good stability on the road” as well as “improved skid and break resistance.” The Ari Star II family comes with a D speed rating for use at 40mph or 65 km/h.
The Agri Star II is further characterised by the wide tyre shoulders, ensuring a higher contact area and better soil and crop protection. Its tread compound offers wear, cut and chip resistance as well as a stubble guard to protect from damage, while its polyester casing provides better stability and deformation resistance.
