Smithers acquires STL indoor testing capabilities

Testing, consulting, information and compliance services provider Smithers has acquired the Indoor Testing Division of Standards Testing Laboratories (STL), a transaction that includes all indoor tyre and wheel testing capabilities. STL will continue to own and operate its Fabricated Machine Division and Texas operations.

“The addition of the STL indoor testing capabilities enables Smithers to support our tyre and wheel clients with a broader portfolio of regulatory and compliance testing,” says Jim Popio, vice president of the Smithers Materials Science and Engineering Division. “Smithers is strategically and historically connected to the tyre and wheel industries and is always looking to invest in opportunities that strengthen our ability to support clients in these spaces.”
