Prince of Wales meets Enso tyres
In just over a month, the Earthshot Prize will announce its 2023 winners in Singapore. Enso Ltd is one of 15 global finalists for this year’s prize, and company founder and chief executive officer Gunnlaugur Erlendsson was amongst a handful of climate tech entrepreneurs who yesterday met with Earthshot Prize founder and Council member, Prince William.
The meeting took place at Sustainable Ventures’ headquarters in London. In a Linkedin post, the climate tech business supporter wrote that “it was an honour to welcome The Prince of Wales to Sustainable Ventures’ HQ at County Hall today to meet with pioneering climate tech entrepreneurs and discuss their scaling journeys, including Tobias Reinicke, Anthony Baker, Dr Ehab Sayed, G Erlendsson, Brian Allen, Maria Raga, Agnes Czako and Aadil Qureshi.”
The Earthshot Prize named Enso, whose aim is to create more sustainable and less polluting tyres, as a finalist in September. Upon Enso’s nomination, Erlendsson thanked the Earthshot Prize for “highlighting the impact of tyre pollution and recognising our efforts to help us all live and breathe a bit easier.”
According to Sustainable Ventures, yesterday’s visit “highlighted The Prince’s commitment to amplifying the impact of climate startups.”
