Pirelli extends GT Cup Championship exclusive tyre supply deal to 2028
Pirelli and Bute Motorsport have extended the tyre manufacturer’s exclusive sole tyre supply and sponsorship agreement with the GT Cup Championship. Pirelli will remain the series’ sole supplier until 2028. The Italian tyre manufacturer has supported Bute Motorsport and the GT Cup Championship for many years, stating that the renewed collaboration solidifies the commitment from both parties to deliver high-performance racing experiences, fostering further innovation in motorsport.
Bute Motorsport is the driving force behind the prestigious GT Cup Championship motorsport series, first founded as a premium GT sprint series. Under its stewardship, the GT Cup Championship has become a premier destination for drivers and teams seeking competition, technical innovation and a passionate community of motorsport fans. The promoter said it has the utmost confidence in Pirelli to continue to offer the best complete solution for the championship. Pirelli will supply a range of slick and wet tyres to competitors, tailored to the needs of each entrant, and trackside technical support.
Christopher Haynes, Bute Motorsport managing director, said: “It’s fantastic to be renewing our brilliant partnership with Pirelli. This long-standing relationship has supported us, and our teams for many years and we’re excited for it to continue. Maintaining a collaboration of this calibre can only be a positive thing for our sport as we assist each other in the development of our offerings for teams, and we look forward to working together with the Pirelli team for another five seasons.”
Jonathan Wells, Pirelli UK motorsport manager, said: “We are delighted to continue our support of the GT Cup and extend our long-standing successful relationship with Bute Motorsport. It’s a collaboration that has consistently delivered outstanding results on and off the racetrack. We look forward to another exciting chapter and are committed to continuing to deliver for the GT Cup – a championship that truly aligns with Pirelli’s premium, prestige and high performance benchmarks.”
The GT Cup Championship held its 2023 season finale at Snetterton on 7-8 October.
