Latest Mitas VF tyres coming to Agritechnica
Mitas will present the latest Very High Flexion (VF) tyres in its Agriterra 02 Soil Protector (SP), HC 3000 R, HC 2000, and HC 1000 Narrow Rim Option (NRO) ranges at the upcoming Agritechnica 2023 exhibition, which will take place in Hannover, Germany from 12 to 18 November. The Yokohama TWS brand will also display tyres from its HC 3000 R, HC 1000 NRO, and HC 2000 lines.
“Our latest Agriterra 02 SP tyre, designed with more flexible and very strong VF sidewall construction, allows for safe operation at lower inflation pressures,” comments Pavel Kott, product manager for Mitas agricultural tyres, adding that an up to 25 per cent larger footprint “provides for greater soil protection and thereby greater yields, reducing soil pressure by up to 20 per cent” Kott credits the entire Agriterra range with an ability to significantly reduce soil compaction.
Developed in response to market demand for high load capacity tyres suitable for slurry tankers, the HC 3000 R features a “soil-friendly” tread pattern and flexible sidewalls reinforced with VF construction.
Mitas developed the HC 1000 NRO to match the latest self-propelled agricultural sprayers. This radial flotation tyre gives farmers up to 40 per cent higher load capacity, increased flotation and ground protection due to both the NRO construction and use of VF technology. Mitas adds that the optimised tread pattern and increased number of lugs ensure reduced soil compaction, lower fuel consumption, better durability, and longer service life.
The Mitas HC 2000 is intended for use with high-power tractors. Mitas reports that the tread pattern design and VF technology deliver excellent traction efficiency while maintaining good ground protection, even at high load capacity.
The Green Monster
“In addition to the agricultural tyres we’ll be showing at Agritechnica, we are very proud to show the “Green Monster V Mitas Edition” tractor fitted with our PowerPull 01 tyres,” adds Elmar Burkhardt, marketing senior manager for Central Europe. “These tyres are exclusively designed for tractor pulling races, and made to transfer the enormous power behind competition-level machines so drivers can get the maximum pull they need. The tyres are made without tread patterns, so teams can carve their own tread design. Mitas has been a strong and loyal sponsor of this competition over the years, and we’re excited to have the “Green Monster V” and its driver Tobias Hörstkamp at our Booth #B04 – Hall 20, ready to meet fans and take pictures with them inside the tractor cabin.”
