GRI CEO addresses “Sustainability in Tires” conference
GRI CEO, Dr Mahesha Ranasoma, was addressed delegates at the Smithers conference on “Sustainability in Tires” in Shanghai, China. Dr Ranasoma delivered a presentation entitled “The Green Revolution of the Tire Industry: A Deep Dive into ESG Integration,” drawing the attention of industry leaders in attendance. He highlighted GRI’s role in developing sustainable Specialty Tires and green practices, emphasizing the company’s commitment to advancing environmentally conscious solutions.
The “Sustainability in Tires 2023” conference provided a platform for tyre industry professionals and stakeholders from Asia-Pacific region to connect, collaborate, and explore the latest advancements in sustainability within the tyre industry. The conference addressed topics including OEM requirements, tyre performance, emerging technologies, testing methodologies, and materials.
Dr Mahesha Ranasoma, highlighted GRI’s role in the green revolution of the tire industry, exemplified by the introduction of sustainable agriculture and forklift tires by GRI. These innovative tyres incorporate a high degree of sustainable materials, a testament to GRI’s commitment to sustainability and innovation within the industry. Dr Ranasoma also spoke about the Green X Circle, an initiative that integrates social leadership fostering local and global collaborations with farming communities. He emphasized GRI’s dedication to nurturing sustainability champions throughout the value chain.
The Green XLR Earth series of sustainable radial agriculture tyres and the Ultimate Green XT sustainable forklift tyres by GRI were reportedly “a centrepiece” of Dr Ranasoma’s presentation.
