Continental Tyres celebrates 13th year of sponsoring Women’s League Cup
Continental Tyres is celebrating its 13th consecutive year sponsoring the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup, as the group stage fixtures for the 2023-24 competition get underway. With 20 clubs in the running to take home the coveted League Cup Trophy, the ten Round 1 fixtures kick off the competition on Wednesday 11 October 2023.
2022-23 semi-finalists Manchester City go head-to-head with Everton, while newly-promoted Watford take on the London City Lionesses, and West Ham face off against Charlton Athletic – with all teams kicking off the first round of their campaigns on the same day.
Continental Tyres first signed as founding partner of the Women’s League Cup in 2011. Since then, the title partnership has seen Continental continue to offer fans an unrivalled pre-match experience which includes target shooting, agility games and an opportunity to have a picture with the League Cup Trophy.
Baroness Sue Campbell, director of Women’s Football at The FA, said: “With a 13th FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup on the horizon – of which they’ve been a title partner from the start – it’s important to us to recognise the support and commitment Continental Tyres have shown to the women’s game for such a long time. Their partnership is invaluable in growing the competitiveness of our top-flight leagues, and we’re looking forward to working alongside them for another edition of the beloved ‘Conti Cup’ this season.”
Pete Robb, marketing director for Continental Tyres, said: “The women’s game has grown every year since we first came onboard in a sponsorship capacity. Through our longstanding partnership with the FA, we’ve been able to promote safety and performance both on and off the pitch – from grassroots to the highest level.”
The group stages of the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup run from 11 October 2023 through to 25 January 2024, with the quarterfinals scheduled for 7 – 8 February 2024, the semi-finals on 6 – 7 March 2024. The final is on 31 March 2024.
