Anyline launches e-commerce tyre sidewall scanner
Anyline has introduced a new tyre sidewall scanner designed to interface with online tyre retail. The move is designed to help the tyre business catch up with other e-commerce sectors since the tyre sector is understood to have lagged behind due in part to lack of customer knowledge relating to tyres. Additionally, Anyline reports that the new system will help businesses quickly identify and track tyres for inventory management and warehousing.
With the Anyline Tire Sidewall Scanner, users can simply open the camera on their smartphone to take a photo of the sidewall of any passenger tyre. Anyline instantly captures analogue tyre information – DOT/TIN, tyre size, tyre make and model – and converts it into digital data. By harnessing Anyline’s more than 10 years of experience in computer vision and machine learning, the Tire Sidewall Scanner removes the possibility of human error and is reportedly five times faster than recording the information manually. Every image is sent and processed using Anyline Cloud API, giving organizations the flexibility to capture data via app, website, chatbot or messaging service.
“Our Tire Sidewall Scanner is a perfect fit for e-commerce, where 72 per cent of drivers do not know much about their tyres, resulting in 29 per cent or more being hesitant to buy tyres online,” says Lukas Kinigadner, CEO and co-founder, Anyline. “Every tyre e-commerce platform needs tyre size or vehicle information to provide accurate product recommendations, but the average person often doesn’t know where to find this information, which can contribute to 20 per cent plus return rates for tyre retailers. Everyone, however, knows how to take a photo of a tyre with their phone and taking a picture of a tyre is much easier and more accurate than finding the tyre size and typing it into a text box.”
Anyline Tire Sidewall Scanner also works for tyre inventory management and tyre hotels as it helps to optimize workflows by easily digitizing analogue tyre information. In addition, the software can integrated into handheld devices or fixed mounted camera systems.
Europcar, Discount Tire and TireHub are examples of businesses already using Anyline technology.
