MTS chooses Arcom AR03 MIX tyre racks, AR04 pallets for Bellshill warehouse
Micheldever Tyre Services’ new Scottish warehouse is being fitted out with a racking solution from the Polish supplier Arcom, continuing a long-standing cooperation between the companies. The facility in Bellshill, Scotland, near Airdrie in the east of Glasgow, is the latest in a series of joint projects between MTS and Arcom; MTS has chosen a proven and versatile rack for vertical, horizontal, and column storage that can be stacked up to 9 metres high. The AR03 MIX is largely suitable for passenger car tyres, while AR04 pallets are being employed as a supplement for storing SUV tyres up to 80cm in diameter. With this combination, the warehouse can be adapted easily to changing goods and the number of stored tyres. In case of no demand for some pallets, they can be easily disassembled, folded, and transported elsewhere.
Thanks to this functionality, the first batch of pallets that should suffice for about 120,000 tyres can be easily modified and enlarged as needed. The system proposed by Arcom is not only a space and money saver but also saves time needed to operate the warehouse. Tyres can be transported on pallets by forklifts and freely transshipped at logistics centres. The rotation of pallets between any of MTS’s 15 warehouses is also easy due to the dimensions of Arcom’s products, which are based on the most popular trailers used by European carriers.
Arcom said that its team is proud of its long-standing cooperation and ability to collaborate on part of the development of one of the UK’s leading wholesalers. Racks made by the Polish manufacturer have been gaining recognition among customers in the country for more than a decade. Arcom supplies a wide range of products that allows for the storage of every type of tyre on the market. It tells Tyres & Accessories that its most popular models are the AR01, AR03 and AR05 for passenger car tyres, the AR10 for TBR tyres, and the AR12 for tyres supplied to the agricultural sector.
Arcom has specialised in the production of tyre storage pallets since 1996, delivering its products to more than 60 countries worldwide. The company recently launched a new website for English-speaking customers, www.racksfortyres.co.uk.
