NFDA launches #chooseautomotive campaign to promote careers in Automotive
With students receiving the results of their A-Level and GCSE courses, the National Franchised Dealers Association is launching a new campaign, #chooseautomotive, aimed at highlighting the rewarding career paths within the automotive sector.
Sue Robinson, Chief Executive of the NFDA, said: “Our industry has often been underestimated, yet it offers a wide range of diverse and exciting career avenues that promise a rewarding career path. It’s time we debunk the old misconceptions surrounding our industry. This sector stands as a gateway to fulfilling careers, offering numerous apprenticeships across diverse sectors, ensuring a level playing field for individuals from all backgrounds and genders to cultivate essential skills.”
“With nearly 600,000 people working in the retail side of the automotive sector across the UK and diverse career options in sales, finance, marketing, social media, policy, HR, and more, this industry is full of possibilities.”
Through its employment initiative, Drive My Career, NFDA is committed to inspiring young individuals to explore the prospect of embarking on apprenticeships or entry-level roles within the automotive sector, highlighting the practical way to learn while earning, fostering personal growth, and achieving self-reliance. On results day, 17 August, Drive My Career will launch the campaign #choseautomotive and will share videos, testimonials, and posts raising awareness on the benefits of embarking on a career in automotive.
Robinson added: “We invite our members to seize the opportunity of these significant days by showcasing their workforce and career opportunities to those embarking on their next chapter. From 17 to 24 August, we launch #ChooseAutomotive. We encourage your active participation in our campaign by sharing videos featuring apprentices or employees, sharing their motivations for choosing the automotive industry and the gratifying benefits of this enriching career.
“Next week, we will also be returning to the British Motor Show, taking place from 17-20 August at Farnborough. This event serves as an opportunity to engage with young motoring enthusiasts and students that will be contemplating their future career paths. In doing so, NFDA and Drive My Career’s mission remains committed to changing young people’s perceptions of the industry, educating on the limitless opportunities the sector presents and directly promoting our members as a viable career path to facilitate this progression.”
