Launch for GitiSport GTR3 – but European drivers must wait
Upon entering into a global co-branding agreement earlier in the year, Giti Tire said it would add the slogan ‘Giti – Powered by Sparco’ to the sidewalls of UHP tyres from 2024. One product that may gain the slogan is the next-generation GitiSport GTR3. The tyre maker unveiled the road-legal semi-slick to customers in Latin America, the Middle East, Oceania, and much of Asia in June, and a spokesman told Tyrepress.com of plans to debut GitiSport GTR3 in Europe next year.
Designed and developed by the “innovative minds at Giti’s Motorsport Division” in Germany and benefitting from input by the European Testing Team at the Horiba Mira facility in Nuneaton, the GitiSport GTR3 Powered by Sparco launches in 13 sizes for 17- to 20-inch rim diameters. Giti Tire comments that this size range provides the GTR3 compatibility “with a broad spectrum of high-performance car models from the world’s leading manufacturers.”
“The GitiSport GTR3 is designed for a discerning segment of luxury car drivers, who demand not only high-speed and superior performance capabilities, but also a tyre that strikes a balance between exhilarating racetrack performance and everyday usability,” says Fabio Pecci-Boriani, senior product manager PCR, SUV, Light Truck for Giti Tire (Europe). “They value the thrilling experience and the control that comes with a high-performance vehicle. This tyre is precisely crafted to cater to these involved needs of exploratory drivers, providing them with the confidence to master even the most demanding driving conditions.”
The result of more than three years of “dedicated research and development,” Giti Tire says the GitiSport GTR3 embodies its pursuit of perfection and collaboration with Sparco. “Innovation in tyre development is a journey that never ends. Giti is committed to investing significant resources into continually pushing the boundaries of tyre performance and quality,” adds Mark Zhu, the company’s motorsport manager.
