Hankook recognised with award for best fan experience in 2023 Formula E World Championship
Hankook has been recognised for its contribution to the fan experience in its first season as official technical partner and tyre supplier of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. The tyre supplier was presented with the award for best fan experience at the official Season 9 Awards Gala following the season finale at the 2023 Hankook London E-Prix, recognising its presence in the racing series’ Allianz Fan Village. Hankook welcomed thousands of fans around the world to its interactive exhibition area, which focused on sustainability and its exclusive tyre partnership with the all-electric race series.
Hankook communications director Felix Kinzer joined Manfred Sandbichler, Hankook motorsport director, Filip Pawelka, senior marketing manager, and Christian Büttner, Hankook event and exhibition, on the stage in London to receive the prize. He said: “This is a really magnificent award, which we are delighted to receive, and for which we would like to thank those responsible in Formula E.
“In our first season in Formula E, everyone in the team has done a fantastic job to encourage fans to be more sustainable. Whether our motorsport department with its engineers and tyre service for the teams, marketing or communications – everyone worked hand in hand to achieve this great result. We have also received very positive feedback from the racing teams and drivers on our premium product, the Hankook iON Race, which has impressed all along the line in terms of performance, energy efficiency and sustainability, and has performed all season in diverse conditions.”
The Hankook Formula E team will return to Formula E action in September for testing, followed by October’s assembly of the Formula E grid in Valencia for the official pre-season test. The 2024 season opener takes place in Mexico City on 13 January.
