Green light for Tyre Call Antrim expansion
Wholesaler Tyre Call has gained approval for a new storage and distribution warehouse at its Antrim, Northern Ireland site. Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council’s Planning Committee has approved plans for the building of a 7,361 square metre distribution warehouse.
Tyre Call, distributor of passenger vehicle, light commercial, truck, agricultural and industrial tyres, has operated from a site within the Kilbegs industrial estate in Antrim for the past 23 years. According to Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council, this new warehouse facility will represent a “significant investment” of £6 million to the Borough and will create 20 construction jobs, with an additional 30 operational jobs when complete.
“Antrim is a prime location for business, this investment by Tyre Call is a great boost for the local economy with the creation of multiple jobs in both construction and manufacturing sectors,” says Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Councillor, Mark Cooper.
“Tyre Call is a leading business located in our Borough. I am delighted that plans for a £6 million investment to extend their business have been approved, allowing them to meet with business demand and offer more options for the buyer,” adds Councillor Robert Foster, chair of the council’s Planning Committee Councillor.
