Goodyear to exhibit Powerload and OTR tyres at steinexpo 2023
Goodyear is showcasing its premium OTR tyres and solutions for construction and industrial machinery at steinexpo 2023 (23-26 August in Homberg, Germany). Goodyear will showcase its Powerload, GP-3E, Omnitrac Heavy Duty, and TL-4A OTR tyres, alongside its TPMS Heavy Duty solution on stand (B81) in the open-air area of the fair. “We offer a large portfolio of high-performance tyres for industrial and construction machinery. For us, steinexpo is the perfect opportunity to present a selection of our OTR tyre segment and to enter into a valuable personal exchange directly with our customers,” says Octavian Velcan, managing director OTR & Aviation EMEA at Goodyear.
The Powerload tyre series is designed to optimise the productivity, durability and cost-effective operation of compact wheel loaders and small grader machines for more efficient and sustainable operations. It is equipped with Smooth Guard Technology including an extra thick and smooth rubber layer of protection in the shoulder area and sidewall. It gives the tyre greater durability. In addition, the new tyre series has a reinforced sidewall construction giving increased stability and easier manoeuvrability. The tyre’s tread pattern is not directional, so it can be mounted on any wheel position. The Goodyear Powerload offers excellent off-road traction and directional stability.
The GP-3E is designed for wheel loaders, articulated dump trucks and graders. With its special Goodyear Type 6 rubber compound, it provides increased abrasion resistance and thus lowers operators’ tyre costs. At the same time, the model impresses with a reduced overall weight compared to its predecessors. The special construction is proven to optimise tread wear, contributing to Goodyear’s goal of maximising efficiency and sustainability without sacrificing tyre performance. The GP-3E tread pattern achieves high levels of traction with additional biting edges, dual centreline lugs and an increased lug count. At the same time, the tread is designed to support a high level of flotation by distributing weight evenly. The advanced tread pattern, combined with the new carcass construction, also offers improved levels of operator comfort – a bonus during long shifts in challenging climates.
The Omnitrac Heavy Duty series was developed for tippers and other heavy-duty trucks driving short distances on public roads but predominately operating in challenging unpaved working environments such as on construction sites and in mines and quarries. The Omnitrac Heavy Duty Series focuses on vehicles that work predominantly in heavy terrain, covering only short distances on paved roads. At the same time, it offers improved fuel efficiency and connectivity with tyre management systems.
The TL-4A OTR tyre was developed for articulated dump trucks and scrapers. Goodyear targets the growing number of higher capacity vehicles with the tyre. Its high tread depth provides excellent traction on muddy and soft surfaces. The TL-4A is available in two versions in size 33.25 R 29 with a belt made of high-strength steel for improved resistance to punctures.
Goodyear has many years of experience in the development of Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). At steinexpo, the company will present the enhanced TPMS Heavy Duty. The system communicates with drivers and fleet managers via two apps, Goodyear FleetHub and Goodyear DriverHub, which provide predictive tyre data and helpful information for proactive and preventive maintenance of their fleets.
