GB Tyres buys Nordic Tyres
GB Tyres has bought Nordic Tyres (UK) Ltd. Nordic Tyres, which is based in Dumfries, Scotland, was established in 1999 and has become a well-known name in the UK agricultural and forestry tyre sectors. Alan Lindsay, managing director, Nordic Tyres will remain in the business.
Over the years, Nordic tyres has established long-standing relationships with the CEAT and Nokian brands and is also an appointed distributor of Maxxis, Duro and Kenda ATV tyres, as well as Pronar wheels and Nexen Tubes.
Confirming news of the acquisition, GB Tyres representatives explained that Nordic Tyres’s existing relationships “are set to continue and the new owners are looking forward to further building on the strong relationship and supporting the growth of these key brands.”
Alan Lindsay, managing director, Nordic Tyres commented: “I’m thrilled that Nordic Tyres have become part of the GB Tyres family, both businesses share the same ethos and ambitions and I have no doubt that the acquisition will be an extremely positive step for both companies.”
Nordic Tyres will continue to operate as an independent entity, but with added support from its new owners, in terms of funding, strategic direction, and sales and marketing.
Company representatives added: “In time the two businesses will be linked very closely, and customers will be able to access products from either business in a seamless manner.” Indeed, the new owners report that they have “ambitious plans for the business and expect ongoing and significant growth over the next few years.”
Sukhi Singh, managing director at GB Tyres commented: “I am delighted that we have been able to accelerate our growth in the agricultural sector through the purchase of a well-respected established business. There are fantastic opportunities for both businesses as a result of the acquisition, and I look forward to offering our loyal customers an even better product portfolio and overall level of service.”
In 2022, GB Tyres extended its offering into the plant, agricultural and OTR segments. That move included exclusive distribution of key brands in the UK and Europe and the appointment of a dedicated salesperson in these areas.
