Falken nominated for film award
Falken’s recently launched short film, ‘A Monument to the Art of Racing,’ has been nominated for the ‘Best Event Film’ prize at the International Motor Film Awards 2023. We’ll have to wait a month to find out whether the judging panel has chosen the Falken film – this year’s winners will be announced during a ceremony at Alexandra Palace in London on 21 September.
The film offers a unique insight into Falken’s part in the 2023 Nürburgring 24-hour race, with its videography team following the action throughout the event – capturing the highs, and the lows. Shooting more than twenty hours of raw footage in just one week, the short film explores the emotions of the drivers, as well as the entire motorsport team. Viewers enjoy unrestricted access to explore what the racers go through before and during the race.
“The nomination is a fantastic reward for the work – and the heart and soul – we put into the film,” says Dennis Wilstermann, assistant manager marketing at Falken Tyre Europe GmbH. “We really put our heart and soul into it, from the ariel shots in the helicopter and giving a trackside view from the cars. The film is packed with fabulously spectacular and extremely captivating scenes, is thrilling for our fans, and captured the interest of the International Motor Film Awards’ jury.”
This is the third time Falken has been nominated for an International Motor Film Award, and it won the trophy in 2021 with the film ‘Whatever Comes Our Way’. That film was shot in September 2020, during what was probably the most unusual race in the history of the Nürburgring 24-hour race – an event with hardly any spectators lining the Nordschleife circuit.
