Enviro adds to key expansion team
With the hiring of two new team members, Scandinavian Enviro Systems speaks of completing the “key recruitments central to its future expansion.” The company also shares that extensive preparatory work has delayed the start of construction at its joint venture tyre recycling plant in Uddevalla, Sweden.
Enviro has brought Björn Larsson on board as head of strategic purchasing and Josefin Wallman as program manager, and both also become members of the company’s management group. Björn Larsson takes responsibility for purchasing in connection with new recycling plants and Josefin Wallman will act as project manager for the establishment of future recycling plants, including the facility in Uddevalla. The company views both roles as central for the execution of the expansion plan that it previously announced together with Antin Infrastructure Partners.
As program manager, Josefin Wallman is tasked with project responsibility for the establishment of the Uddevalla plant as well as future sites in Europe. The facility in Uddevalla will be the first established as part of the joint venture formed between Enviro and Antin Infrastructure Partners. The joint venture is supported by Michelin and aims to establish facilities across Europe by 2030 with a total recycling capacity of up to one million tonnes of end-of-life tyres per year.
The partners’ plan will accelerate once the plant in Uddevalla is commissioned, notes Enviro. Björn Larsson is head of strategic purchasing in connection with the establishment of new recycling plants, a role that includes responsibility for construction of the plants and purchases of related equipment. In this role, he will lead a newly formed group of commodity managers.
Delay in Uddevalla
Enviro reports that the joint venture has been making “extensive” preparations ahead of a definitive investment decision pertaining to the Uddevalla facility. The company previously stated that construction work in Uddevalla would begin in the first half of 2023, however, the joint venture has revised this schedule.
“Antin is a leading European infrastructure investor and has extensive experience in building stable business models that are attractive over the long term,” says Alf Blomqvist, chairman of the Enviro Board of Directors. “However, as a major player in one of the most interesting investment segments, Antin sets very clear requirements for all decision-supporting documentation, which has resulted in considerably more extensive preparatory work than we had anticipated. This is the reason why we have been unable to start construction in Uddevalla in line with our previous statements.”
Experience in purchasing & global projects
Björn Larsson has more than 25 years of experience from various high-tech companies in the automotive and aviation industries as well as the maritime and rail sectors where he has held a number of leading roles in purchasing. His education includes a degree in international economics and post-graduate training in management and product development.
Josefin Wallman joins Enviro from the Elof Hansson International trading house, where she has held several leading global roles in project management and business development and worked as a business area manager. Wallman holds a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering with a degree from the Faculty of Engineering, Lund University.
