Borbet names Andreas Güntner MD of Thüringen subsidiary
Wheel manufacturer Borbet has marked 20 years of alloy wheel production at its Bad Langensalza plant in Germany with a celebration at the site on Saturday. The company has also announced that Dr Andreas Güntner will succeed Dr Claus-Michael Honsel as managing director of the subsidiary operating the Bad Langensalza factory, Borbet Thüringen GmbH, from November 2023.
Company founder Peter-Wilhelm Borbet decided on Bad Langensalza as the location for Borbet’s new plant in 2002 and the first light alloy wheel rolled off the production line a year later. The 55,000-square-metre facility currently produces some 3.5 million wheels a year and employs around 1,000 people. Claus-Michael Honsel has been in charge of the site since February 2014 and played a key role in shaping the development of the company over the years.
“Twenty years represent a remarkable journey that we have travelled hand in hand with our employees and business partners,” stated Margot Borbet, managing director of Borbet GmbH and chairwoman of the Borbet Foundation Board, during the anniversary celebration. “We are proud of what we have achieved and look forward to celebrating this special occasion with everyone who has contributed to our success. I would particularly like to highlight the close bond and mutual trust we have built between the staff and management over two decades.”
