Aeolus auctions tyre manufacturing machinery

On 3 August, 68 items of machinery and equipment of Aeolus were put up for auction online. Equipment auctioned included: setting machines and vulcanisation tanks, and the base price is 2.46 million yuan (about £268,000; €311,000).

Tyrepress China noticed that most of the equipment in this auction belongs to the bias tyre production line. According to the requirements of Aeolus, the buyer needs to dismantle the machinery and equipment obtained from the auction within 90 days of signing the transaction contract and complete the transportation and cleaning work.

The 2022 annual report shows that Aeolus can produce 6 million sets of radial truck tyres, 200,000 sets of radial OTR tyres and 500,000 sets of bias OTR tyres per year. However, in 2022, the capacity utilisation rate of bias tyres was at a low level, only 34.2 per cent.

Relative to its decreasing focus on bias tyres, Aeolus has gradually increased its investment in radial OTR tyres in recent years. In October 2022, the tyre maker rolled off a giant OTR tyre in specification in 59/80R63. In November of the same year, Aeolus stated that it invested 612 million yuan (about £66.6 million; €77.4 million) to increase the production capacity of 80,000 giant and special radial OTR tyres.
