New Apollo EnduRace RT2 size
The Apollo EnduRace RT2 truck trailer tyre range is growing with the introduction of a new 385/55 size option for 22.5-inch rims later this month. Apollo Tyres developed the EnduRace RT2 for Europe and manufactures it here too; the tyre maker says the range “delivers superior standards of all-weather performance, rolling resistance, and enhanced mileage and durability.” It adds that the tyre “remains a highly cost-effective solution in an intensely competitive segment” despite premium performance.
Introducing the new tyre, Apollo Tyres shares that the EnduRace RT2 features an advanced tread pattern that affords even wear and uniform pressure distribution across a wide contact area, minimising rolling resistance, noise and whole-life costs. Furthermore, it designed the tyre with a reinforced casing and a tread compound which reduces abrasion and heat build-up to offer enhanced tear resistance and levels of durability 1.7 times greater than the European regulatory requirement.
“Utilising 30 years of expertise in all-season tyre development, Apollo Tyres’ global R&D team has ensured the EnduRace RT2 offers outstanding grip in wet and winter conditions,” says the tyre maker. “The tyre is certified for snow grip with the ‘three-peak mountain snowflake’ mark, ensuring high levels of performance and safety throughout the year.”
Popular choice
Apollo Tyres launched the second generation of the EnduRace RT line in 2021, following the success of the original EnduRace RT in 2017. Since then, the tyre has been a popular choice for medium- and long-distance hauliers in Europe, offering improvements across the board over its predecessor; most notably, rolling resistance, wet grip and durability.
Last year marked Apollo Tyres’ first OE deal in the European truck sector, when Schwarzmüller selected the EnduRace RT2 as original equipment for its truck trailers. As one of Europe’s top trailer manufacturers, Schwarzmüller produces over 10,000 trailers and truck bodies annually, sold across 20 European countries.
