Michelin names Miatton group employee experience manager
As of this month, Simone Miatton relinquishes command of Michelin’s business in Italy and joins the company’s Human Resources Management team at corporate level, in the role of group employee experience manager. Matteo De Tomasi is the new chief executive officer of Michelin Italiana, effective 13 July 2023, a position he holds in addition to his remit as commercial director.
Announcing the end of his tenure as country manager and director of human resources in Italy, Miatton recently stated that “it was an honour and a reason for personal pride to bear this responsibility from 2018 to the present.” He added that his new role within Michelin will allow him to “stay close to Michelin Italiana, from which I will continue to be inspired.”
Miatton joined Michelin as a shop manager in 1997 and has held a variety of positions, including six and a half years as plant manager for the tyre maker’s Cuneo plant. He became director of human resources for Italy in September 2016 and additionally took on the role of chief executive officer in February 2018.
Matteo De Tomasi considers taking on leadership of Michelin in Italy “a privilege” and he expresses pride in continuing the work performed by Simone Miatton and the team in Italy. “All the ingredients are there to achieve our goal of long-term sustainable growth: passion, the experience and skills of our people will continue to be key to drive innovation, the development of our business and to ensure a lasting future to the company.”
