Growth within SuperTruck dealer network
Halfway into 2023, Prometeon Tyre Group speaks of “continuous growth” within its SuperTruck dealer network this year and shares news of a meeting of partners from around Europe at the first SuperTruck International Convention. This event in Parma, Italy brought dealers from Austria, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom together and offered the opportunity to share current and future Prometeon strategies, products, and marketing activities, and to talk about expansion of the SuperTruck project in Europe.
“In this first International Convention, we wanted to show how firmly we believe in building a privileged relationship with our customers,” says Francesco Antonacci, chief executive officer of Prometeon Tyre Group’s Europe Region. “We regard this type of relationship as a partnership. We are indeed convinced that sharing the desire of building a medium-long-term relationship can benefit both parties involved and that the collaboration with specialised dealers, above all, will tangibly improve and refine the service provided to end customers. To this aim, we will put an increasing emphasis on the SuperTruck project and on the development of support services.”
34 SuperTruck dealers
SuperTruck initially launched in 2016 in Italy and the SuperTruck network started with the setting up of a consortium in 2019. This currently boasts more than 34 participating dealers. In 2020 it debuted in Poland, then in Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, Spain and Portugal, and is also being developed in Germany and Switzerland.
SuperTruck is a network of independent dealers specialised in the truck and bus sector. Its distinguishing traits include expertise, experience and the passion which the network puts at the service of its customers. “SuperTruck offers dealers a broad range of services and cutting-edge products,” comments Prometeon Tyre Group. The tyre maker adds that it “lends its technological know-how and support to dealers on their professional growth path.”
Being a partner of SuperTruck allows Prometeon Tyre Group to “offer innovation, ideas and solutions, increasingly establishing itself as a professional reference for fleets, in addition to its own complete portfolio, which includes the new Serie 02 range and all dedicated services and activities, some exclusive to the network.”
Prometeon services
According to Prometeon Tyre Group, the jewel in the crown of SuperTruck is the services it offers: Pro Service is the name given to the suite of services that PTG offers fleet customers; this includes four key elements in the UK. Flexibility plays a role here, with fleets free to pick and choose one or two services or the whole basket.
Many will already be familiar with Pro Time, the 24/7 vehicle breakdown service that promises help arranged within two hours. Then there’s the Pro Check digital monitoring system and Pro Retread, which offers a whole lifecycle tyre solution.
Arguably the most important member of the Pro Service family for the UK market is the Pro Management centralised billing tool. PTG first introduced this in 2012 and recently debuted an entirely brand-new version of Pro Management. Prometeon Tyre Group’s goal is to have a fully integrated Pro Management and Pro Check system up and running by the end of this year, enabling dealers to see their inspections and worksheets all in one place.
Fleets that select the Pro Retread service option fit both new and Prometec tyres to their vehicles. Prometec is the company’s range of retreads, based upon Pirelli patterns and produced in the UK by Vaculug. PTG representatives collect used tyres from customers, and those casings that meet quality requirements are sent to Vaculug for retreading according to the mould cure process.
Numerous fleets choose Prometec tyres as part of a mixed offering that also includes premium Pirelli or tier two Formula tyres. Pirelli is Prometeon Tyre Group’s premium truck and off-highway tyre brand, and last year the tyre maker began rolling out its Serie 02 truck tyre range. Not all products in this second-generation line debuted at launch, and the final new pattern arrived only recently. This is the H02 Pro Trailer, which PTG is offering in sizes 435/50 R19.5 and 445/45 R19.5 as a replacement for the Pirelli ST:01. Compared to the previous range, H02 Pro Trailer offers 20 per cent improved wet grip performance, ten per cent greater load capacity (up to 10 tonnes per axle), and 20 per cent lower rolling resistance. Like all Serie 02 tyres, the trailer fitment is 3PMSF marked.
