Goodwood launch for 3 Pirelli tyres
Pirelli debuted the P Zero brand in 1986 and since then has given the name to numerous performance tyres, including more than 1,300 original equipment homologations for vehicle manufacturers. A trio of P Zero tyres debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this week.
In addition to the Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS and P Zero E, Pirelli showed off the P Zero R, It describes this as a tyre “for the most powerful supercars that’s also adapted for everyday use.” The tyre takes “full advantage of the close collaboration” between Pirelli and the car makers it supplies tyres for.
For the P Zero R, Pirelli’s engineers worked on providing the tyre with “progressive behaviour as well as outright performance, not to mention driving control in both wet and dry conditions, better rolling resistance, less road noise, and increased consistency during sports driving.”
The Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS, on the other hand, represents “the top of the range when it comes to on-track performance.” This is a semi-slick tyre homologated for road use, mainly intended as original equipment for hypercars, with bespoke versions developed for each car. “The P Zero Trofeo RS represents another step forward when it comes to on-track performance, with more consistent delivery and increased safety in the wet compared to the previous generation.”
As already reported, the P Zero E brings sustainable raw materials to the ultra-high-performance tyre segment and additionally achieves an EU label AAA rating across the range.
