Toyo Tires with Ring Racing gets Nürburgring podium in NLS4
Toyo Tires with Ring Racing had a successful outing in its recent visit to the Nordschleife, achieving a podium finish in the Nürburgring Langstrecken Series race. After qualifying fourth in their Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2023, Heiko Tönges took the start in car number 170, with Michael Tischner taking over for the middle stint and team principal Uwe Kleen bringing it home for the finish. The Toyota GR Supra was equipped with Nürburgring-soec Toyo Proxes Slicks.
Toyo says track conditions were tough, with temperatures exceeding 40°C. The tyre manufacturer was pleased that its slick tyres demonstrated good durability and consistency in such challenging circumstances. Leading the race for the final stages, Kleen was to lose out to the BMW M4 of Walkenhorst Motorsport after an epic duel on the final straight. After four hours of racing, first and second place were split by just 2.299 seconds.
The next Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie round, the fifth round of this year’s championship, will take place on Saturday, 8 July. Toyo Tires with Ring Racing will be back, challenging again for the win.
