Toyo Proxes Sport 2 UHP tyre receives Red Dot Design Award

Toyo’s Proxes Sport 2 ultra-high performance tyre has been presented with a Red Dot Design Award in the 2023 competition. The Proxes Sport 2 was launched in 2022, engineered using nano technology for the high torque of performance vehicles. The tyre gained recognition from Auto Bild Sportscars, awarded a “Good” recommendation in its product testing. Toyo says the Red Dot design award underlines its product design “excellence”.

The Red Dot jury was impressed by the tyre’s asymmetric tread pattern with diagonal lateral cross grooves that ensure the even distribution of contact forces. These features enhance the braking performance on wet and dry roads. The rubber compound also varies. Toyo used a flexible polymer matrix on the inside so that the tyre hugs the road surface, while it chose a special elastic rubber for the outside to improve the grip. The optimised sidewall profile controls the high forces generated during cornering.
