Michelin Shenyang plant increases production of silent tyres

Michelin’s Shenyang factory recently stated that it would change the post-processing project. Tyrepress China found that after adjusting the product structure, the tyre manufacturing base significantly increased the production of silent tyres and reduced the production of self-sealing tyres.

The post-processing project is to process the finished PCR tyres. The manufacturing workshop improves a certain quality of the tyre by laying self-sealing glue inside the finished tyre or pasting the mute sponge. Tyrepress China learned that Michelin owns these two technologies, and the tyre manufacturer has related production bases in the United States, Italy and Germany.

In 2020, Michelin’s Shenyang production base started post-processing projects, processing 900,000 tyres into self-sealing tyres and 1.3 million tyres into silent tyres. After adjusting the product structure this time, the overall production capacity of post-processing projects has become 5.7 million, including 5 million silent tyres and 700,000 self-sealing tyres.
