Linglong commences strategic cooperation with SAIC Volkswagen
A new strategic cooperation between Linglong Tire and SAIC Volkswagen will facilitate the development of products and innovations. Wang Feng, chairman and president of Linglong Tire, signed the agreement on behalf of the tyre maker during a ceremony held at SAIC Volkswagen headquarters in Shanghai, China on 12 June.
SAIC Volkswagen was established in 1984 as the second automotive joint venture between Chinese and international partners, and today manufactures Volkswagen, Škoda and Audi passenger vehicles at its numerous plants. Linglong Tire began its relationship with the vehicle manufacturer in 2017 and supplied the first original equipment tyres the following year. Since then, it has provided fitments for much of the SAIC Volkswagen product range, more than 16 million tyres in total.
According to Linglong Tire, the strategic cooperation is based upon a foundation of good cooperation. Both parties will utilise their joint research and development to create synergies that lead to the rapid development of innovations. The tyre maker aims to provide SAIC Volkswagen with “lean products and services” that enhance the vehicle manufacturer’s competitiveness.
