Linglong and Geely establish joint R&D centre
Linglong Tire is partnering with Geely Automobile Research Institute in the establishment of a joint R&D centre called the Geely Engineering Center & Linglong Technology Center TIH Laboratory.
Having started collaborating a decade ago, the two companies report that they have embarked on deeper cooperation, including the TIH (Tuning In House) project, which is an indoor virtual development solution jointly developed by Linglong and Geely.
The TIH project utilizes tyre modeling software such as FTire and MF-Tyre to simulate tyre performance on real vehicles.
According to the two companies, the TIH project significantly reduces the length of the tyre development cycle and the associated costs. Virtual development also reduces the number of development iterations, enhances individual tyre testing quality and resolves the issue of prolonged tyre development cycles caused by imbalanced vehicle dynamic performance (steering control, ride comfort) and NVH performance.
At roughly the same time, in the middle of June, Linglong also commenced a partnership with SAIC Volkswagen.
