Hankook Vantra tyre range targets efficiency, safety and durability for light commercial vehicles
Hankook’s tyre range for the light commercial vehicle sector is produced under the Vantra product name. These tyres, targeting single van operators and large fleet operators alike, are designed to optimise the performance of vans in the most common applications. Tyres for the LCV market need to be able to cope with the additional weight and withstand the strain of stop-start urban trips as well as longer journeys, reflecting the variety of conditions in which they operate, delivering essential services from local to national levels. Hankook’s portfolio for the van and light truck category include the Vantra LT, an energy efficient, safe and exceptionally durable summer tyre; and the more recently added Vantra ST AS 2, a durable, multi-performance, all-season tyre.
Hankook Vantra LT
The Vantra LT was developed to meet the high demands placed on passenger and goods transport vehicles in regional applications. Durability, fuel efficiency and mileage played a key role during development as well as safety-related driving characteristics such as short breaking distances and superior wet performance.
The Hankook Vantra LT’s footprint is designed to improve durability by applying square shape contact patch technology that allows for an optimised groove position, increasing stability in the outer grounding footprint area. In combination with the tyre’s reinforced belt structure featuring a double steel belt this allows a more even distribution of the ground pressure resulting in the reduction in tyre deformation.
In addition, the reduced tyre deformation results in a lowered rolling resistance, resulting in higher fuel efficiency. The tyre’s tread pattern enables fast water dispersion, reducing hydroplaning and guarantees superior performance in wet and even cold weather conditions.
All-season performance
The new Vantra ST AS 2, an all-season tyre with the 3PMSF symbol, shows its strengths particularly on road surfaces common in urban areas during the cold season. Its specially developed “Ice-Philic-Technology” ensures increased grip even at lower temperatures.
The structure of the tyre provides impressive endurance and durability. Its wide contact area and long sipes improve grip and handling performance in all conditions, all year round. The groove and shoulder design enable efficient water drainage for those wetter days, helping to increase grip in all weather conditions. A wide steel belt layer optimises the Vantra ST AS2’s tread stiffness, which also helps to improve handling. The tyre’s sidewall contains reinforcement for kerbing protection.
