Banner to expand in Chinese market
As part of its ‘Agenda 2030’ corporate development strategy, Banner has taken the decision to establish a major presence in China. Representing an opportunity to realise significant sales penetration in what is one of the world’s largest markets, Banner has signed a licensing agreement with leading battery manufacturer, LEOCH.
Under the terms of the agreement, Banner and LEOCH will seek to pursue joint and innovative applications for sales across China. As Banner’s Commercial CEO, Andreas Bawart, States: “Agenda 2030 not only centres on developing new technologies, but capitalising on new market opportunities in Asia and the Americas, not to mention expanding Banner’s cooperation with key partners outside of Europe. And whilst Banner has previously supplied individual customers in the Chinese market, we are confident that in LEOCH we have found the ideal partner to enable Banner to establish a prominent position in what is one of the world’s largest sales markets for starter and electrical system batteries.”
Not only does LEOCH hold a leading position in the Chinese battery market, it has a widely recognised reputation on the international scene, selling its products in over a hundred countries around the globe that generates an annual sales revenue of over USD 1.9 billion. In terms of the licensing agreement, LEOCH will now manufacture certain premium products in China under the Banner word-image-brand, supplying them to the domestic market.
Andreas Bawart adds: “As our licensing partner, LEOCH, will produce and sell a selection of high quality and premium products under the Banner name, which we are confident will enable us to significantly expand and develop our brand awareness in China.”
