‘Smart & sustainable’ – Sailun debuts Atrezzo 4Seasons Pro
Saliun Group Europe has introduced several new tyres featuring its EcoPoint3 liquid-phase mixing technology. One of these products is the Sailun Atrezzo 4Seasons Pro, and the manufacturer says that thanks to EcoPoint 3 this tyre “sets new standards.”
Noting that high-performance all-season tyres are becoming increasingly popular, whether in the SUV, small car, mid-size, sports, or luxury segments, Sailun comments that Atrezzo 4Seasons Pro with Eco-Point3 technology is “particularly sustainable,” offering significant fuel savings for internal combustion vehicles but also high energy saving potential for EVs.
“In short, the advanced, sustainable EcoPoint3 technology improves all three main categories of tyre performance – safety, wear, and energy efficiency – compared to conventional tyres,” comments Sailun, adding that this is “confirmed by independent tyre experts” such as UTAC. In testing conducted in Ivalo, Finland, UTAC found the quality and performance potential of the Sailun tyre to be “on a par with that of its premium competitors.” The tests also underscored its “competitive performance in dry, wet and snowy conditions,” and the Atrezzo 4Seasons Pro particularly stood out with “better rolling resistance compared to direct premium competitors.”
A proprietary 3D profile design with additional centre grooves and an increased number of sipes provide “improved grip on ice and snow,” reports Sailun, while adaptive, self-locking 3D sipes “ensure long-lasting wet and snow grip without loss of dry performance.” In addition, serrated sipes and drainage channels “contribute to excellent traction and braking performance on snow and ice.” Last but not least, the optimisation of block stiffness within the entire tyre “has a beneficial positive effect in all road conditions.”
4Seasons Pro EV
Low rolling resistance, high load-bearing capacity, low noise – EVs and hybrid vehicles place unique demands upon tyres, and range maximisation in all conditions is a priority. And as EVs are typically heavier than their ICE counterparts and deliver high levels of torque right from the start, tyre makers also need to be conscious of wear issues. “How resistant a tyre is to abrasion depends to a high degree on the rubber compound used. The Atrezzo 4Seasons Pro EV offers a reduction in rolling resistance thanks to the EcoPoint3 technology and its substructure, guaranteeing safety, performance and energy efficiency in all weather conditions,” says Stephan Cimbal, Sailun Europe’s director of marketing. Sizes in the Pro EV range feature a reinforced tread casing that accommodates the instant torque of EVs, and Sailun says this casing also improves overall handling and cornering precision.
The tread pattern is asymmetrical, a configuration that Sailun says “provides improved stability” and includes elements that effectively evacuate water from the tyre as well as elements specialised in improving grip and handling all year round. Sipes on the shoulder blocks enhance grip for precise cornering and braking.
