Nexen Tire joins UNGC
Nexen Tire has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), an international initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate management.
By signing on to the UNGC, the Korean tyre maker commits to aligning its actions with the UNGC’s ten sustainability principles, which cover human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. The company also pledges to contribute to the UNGC’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will report annually on its progress.
Through the establishment of a sustainable management committee, Nexen Tire further intends to promote ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) tasks and address human rights risks, with the aim of meeting global ESG standards and implement sustainable practices.
For Nexen Tire, membership signifies a commitment to using sustainable raw materials and integrating UNGC principles into its corporate management. Reporting its membership, the company also shares news of its EcoVadis Silver medal certification for a second consecutive year and low-risk rating by Sustainalytics, with MSCI ESG ratings ranging from B to BB.
