LKQ Euro Car Parts makes further Ukraine donation
LKQ Euro Car Parts is continuing its support for Ukraine and this time has been able to hand over the donation in person as Sisters from the Congregation of St Joseph in Ukraine visited its headquarters in Tamworth.
The company has been supporting Ukraine since the start of the conflict last February. To date it has raised enough money to buy and deliver seven ambulances to the Congregation, who have then sent these to hospitals across the country.
Sisters from the Congregation run nurseries and a care home in Ukraine. As well as donating the ambulances themselves, LKQ Euro Car Parts has also provided aid such as essential medicines and hygiene products, and gifts for Ukrainian children.
Most recently, this included 700 chocolate Easter eggs and hundreds of pre-loved teddy bears from colleagues’ children. And at Christmas, a lorry load of over 1,000 presents was donated by colleagues from its branches across the UK.
On Friday 19 May, two of the sisters travelled to Tamworth from Poland to receive the latest donation from LKQ Euro Car Parts, a £5,000 cheque that was presented to them at the company’s headquarters.
Dawid Kozlowski, an inventory analyst at Tamworth headquarters, who has led the fundraising efforts, said: “It’s been a real pleasure to host the sisters and be able to continue our support for the people of Ukraine who have been affected by the war. The outpouring of donations from our colleagues over the last year has exceeded our expectations, and we’re thankful for the time and effort everyone’s put in to supporting this cause.”
