Bridgestone addressing growing all-season demand with Turanza All Season 6
Bridgestone has extended its Turanza tyre portfolio into the all-season segment with the launch of the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6. It designed this successor to the Weather Control A005 EVO for electric and ICE vehicles and will offer the tyre in 85 car and SUV sizes for 16- to 21-inch rims, a range covering 96 per cent of high-rim demand in the touring all-season segment.
“Designed to perform all year round, the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 was brought to life on the basis of comprehensive market research with thousands of European drivers on what they expect from an all-season touring tyre and the driving challenges they face,” states Bridgestone, adding that the new tyre’s launch follows strong market growth towards all-season tyres in the years since the predecessor’s launch in 2018. Bridgestone estimates that the all-season segment now represents 21 per cent of the European market.
Year-round control
The overall remit of the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 is to “help drivers to stay in control even in these stressful conditions all year long – no matter the season or the weather conditions.” To achieve this, Bridgestone says the tyre “excels in three key areas”:
Outstanding braking performance across the seasons: According to tests carried out by independent automotive testing institute TÜV SÜD, the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6 offers “best-in-class wet braking and excellent braking performance in dry and snowy conditions alike.” TÜV SÜD tested the tyre in size 205/55 R16 94V XL against the Michelin CrossClimate 2, Continental AllSeasonContact and Goodyear Vector 4Season Gen3.
Exceptional snow performance: TÜV SÜD also “confirmed the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6’s strong capabilities” in terms of snow traction, braking, cornering, and handling – which, along with its 3PMSF marking, ensures it can “successfully manage winter challenges.”
Superior mileage: Internal testing against the previous generation tyre demonstrated a 20 per cent improvement.
EV ready with Enliten
Bridgestone has utilised its Enliten technology in Turanza All Season 6 and says this provides a “combination of cutting-edge technologies providing maximum safety, outstanding tyre performance and improved sustainability characteristics” while ensuring that the tyre is electric vehicle-ready. The tyre maker also shares that the Turanza All Season 6 features an optimised pattern design and a new compound for improved asphalt contact, water evacuation and snow trapping, as well as enhanced performance balance.
“We’ve listened to thousands of drivers across Europe while developing the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6,” says Emilio Tiberio, chief technical officer and chief operating officer at Bridgestone EMIA. “By gaining a truly comprehensive understanding of the daily driving challenges they face, we are able to continuously expand and improve our product portfolio to answer their needs. Developed in line with the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, the Turanza All Season 6 exemplifies our continuous drive for product innovation, as one of our five new consumer tyres to be launched in 2023 – and this launch is particularly timely as it answers the growing market uptake of all-season tyres in Europe witnessed in the past few years.”
