Kama Tyres: Exports decline 60% in 2022
The 2022 annual results that Kama Tyres published today show a significant drop in its export business but stable overall production. Of the 12.3 million tyres sold last year, just nine per cent or some 1.1 million pieces were exported. Compare this with 2021, when Kama Tyres reported exporting 22 per cent of the 12.3 million tyres it made, around 2.7 million tyres.
A key reason for this 1.6 million unit year-on-year decline in tyre exports is that the Russian manufacturer exported to 48 countries in 2021 but only 37 last year.
Kama Tyres claims to make 29 per cent of all tyres produced in Russia. The company produced 12.4 million tyres in 2022, more than 460 tyre product lines for cars, vans, trucks and buses, agricultural equipment and specialised machinery. It sells these products under the Kama, Kama Pro and Viatti brand names.
