Goodyear is Auto Bild’s top summer tyre manufacturer

After the two corresponding titles for winter and all-season tyres went to Michelin, Goodyear was invited to the top step of the podium for the accolade of being “Top Manufacturer Summer Tyres” for a second consecutive year. Second and third place respectively went to Michelin and Bridgestone.

As always, manufacturers are ranked based on their products’ performance in recent Auto Bild group tyre tests. Auto Bild awards a brand six points for a test victory, five for an ‘exemplary’ rating, three points for ‘good’ and two for ‘satisfactory’. A single point is doled out for tyres rated ‘conditionally recommendable’, while Auto Bild gives an extra two points for the ‘eco champion’ or ‘green tyre’ in specific tests.

Goodyear gained the honour of being Top Manufacturer Summer Tyres due to the fact that its products won three tests with exemplary results. “The current tyre models ‘Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6‘ and ‘EfficientGrip 2 SUV’ convince with dynamic top performance, outstanding mileage and future-oriented sustainability,” writes Auto Bild.
