Giti starts construction of new Anhui tyre factory
On 30 March, Giti began construction of its new tyre factory in Anhui Province, China. The specific location of the project is Changfeng County, Hefei, Anhui. On the 31st, Yu Aihua, secretary of the Hefei Municipal Party Committee, went to the construction site to investigate and stressed that it would be completed and put into operation within 12 months.
Tyrepress China previously reported that the Hefei municipal government had agreed with Giti’s headquarters to relocate Giti’s Hefei factory. The official start of construction of the new factory indicates that the relocation work has entered a substantive stage.
Giti’s new factory is in Xiatang Industrial Park, Shuangfeng Economic Development Zone, Changfeng County. It is reported that BYD’s new energy vehicle project, with a total investment of about 15 billion yuan, is built in the same area. Establishing a factory in Xiatang Industrial Park will help Giti provide OE services for BYD nearby. In addition, Xiatang Industrial Park is planning to build a dedicated railway line. After the railway is made, the products of the industrial park can be directly transported by railway.
